A Mindful Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to our Lebanon Special School District families! We hope this break allows you to connect with loved ones and recharge. The following tips may be useful during the break:

  • Practice gratitude for mental wellness - Focus on gratitude by writing down or sharing one thing you are thankful for each day during the break.
  • Manage holiday stress - The holiday season can be stressful. Prioritize self-care by taking breaks, practicing deep breathing, and setting realistic expectations.
  • Stay connected, but balance alone time - While it's important to connect with loved ones, it's okay to take time for yourself. Encourage quiet moments to recharge.
  • Create safe spaces for conversations - Use this break to check in with your loved ones. Ask how they're feeling, especially if they've been stressed or overwhelmed during the school year.
  • Limit digital overload - Reduce screen time and enjoy more in-person connections and outdoor activities. Digital detoxes help improve mental clarity and reduce anxiety.
  • Promote healthy sleep habits - Encourage a healthy sleep schedule during the break. Rest is key to maintaining good mental health and well-being.
